The process can die. The job cannot.

Assume the activity is gone
Work that must continue is a foreground service or WorkManager, with a notification the person can see. A callback on the activity is not that work.

Queue what the network refused
A write that fails on the road stays on the phone, with a cap and a retry. A 401 refreshes the session used by that background task.
- 03
Ask for the battery exception once
Android will still pause a background app. The prompt for unrestricted battery is part of setup, including the extra step some phone makers require.
